Mr. Bradley English 11 October 26, 2014 The difference of Maus Between 1980 and 2000 If the text had been written in a different time or place or language or for a different audience, how and why might it differ? In 1980 people we not as tech educated or gifted therefore they were not able to access information as easily as people did in the year 2000. If Art, or whomever decided to write the book in 2000 he/she could have seen many others point of views other than Vladek and his son. In that case the story could have been more interesting considering the fact that they would be open to using more information. Also the person that would have wrote the book would be way more educated. So the book would be more organized and more readable to those who will and would be reading in now and in the future. Throughout the book Art summarizes his and his sons relationship. For example on page 22-23 in Maus 2, “Acch, Artie. AGAIN you made the wrong addition” says Vladek, then Artie chimes in “ But look- we’ve checked it twice its correct”. The two are arguing whether or not Artie made mistake. Like I said previously Art explains Vladeks and Arties relationship throughout the book in their conversations. If you haven’t caught on their relationship is not the best.
